Y si me actualizo a testing? funcionaría? Gracias de antemano.
Re: S3 Trio3D/2X
I'm using an S3 Trio3D using the XFree86 3.3.5 FrameBuffer. I used the frame buffer howto at: http://www.uno.edu/~adamico/banshee/files/vesafb.txt to set it. Key to remember is that you use the hex values for command line booting, and decimal values in lilo.conf. I run at 1280 x 1024, 16 bit color. jeff smith James Sasitorn wrote: Well XFree86 3.3.6 has support for the S3 Trio3D/2X under the SVGA server. i have mine setup at an 800x600 display. you need to explicitly set the video memory to 4096 or use the option SW_CURSOR to get a non white block cursor.. james On Fri, 24 Mar 2000, Tolga KIlicli wrote: I know it is still the same problem for you but my card does not work even in 320x200 with 16 colors... I know it is still the same problem for you but my card does not work even in 320x200 with 16 colors... I have tried framebuffer but it didnot work either... Do you know any driver or anything i could do with it? I've helped someone on irc with this card recently. Basically, if you look in X docs, you'll know that card is not really supported. The only way to get it to work is try VGA server and tweak in there. The most the person I helped got out of it was 320x200. I'd guess buy another card. Andrew - Andrei S. I've worked over 1 week with HP Vectra VEi8 with integrated Matrox MGA200 video and I had also only 320x200 resolution but after this time I've managed how to make it work (with Xserver-SVGA version 3.3.4) and now I've good resolutions (1024x768 and 800x600) with high refresh rates but modelines are very untypical. If this Xserver recognizes this chipset it's only a matter of good (for this particular card) modelines in XF86Config file. This gives you that nice little pinguin at boottime ;-) you can find all necessary info in the source docs: linux/Documentation/fb/framebuffer.txt and linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt Than you can use X with XF86_FBDev X-server. Check this for info on supported cards for X 3.3.3: http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.3/README3.html or for 3.3.4: http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.4/README3.html I think that at one time (6 weeks ago?)
