I have a PC with an AMD64 +3500 cpu chip. I use up-to-date debian unstable, i386 distribution. I have two vmlinuzs: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.12-1-386 and /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.14-2-386. The installed packages are linux-image-2.6.12-1-386, version 2.6.12-10 and linux-image-2.6.14-4-386 version 2.6.14-7.
