You have the following option in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file? (TwinViewOrientation--relationship of head 1 to head 0) Option TwinViewOrientation LeftOf RightOf is the default. Thanks for your answer. Using LeftOf or RightOf changes nothing, the two bars are still not on the left screen. What's weirder is that the login interface appears on the good screen, i.e. the left one. I just don't understand that. - -- Merciadri Luca See http://www.student.montefiore.ulg.ac.be/~merciadri/ - -- Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference! -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.5.8 http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlI5+hQACgkQM0LLzLt8Mhxw8QCgh5q+5OdxF9JCQ0FCqHU/oOis Y2oAnRFosWP7NJyBOCbMDvwZt8Vq1057 =5tX/ -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Twinview put panels on the other screen
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I've reinstalled nvidia-glx and all the packages going with it, in order to use NVIDIA proprietary drivers for my NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS. Using nvidia-settings GUI, I managed to get TwinView activated; briefly, this is what allows you to get a dual screen. This dual screen is probably virtually defined as one screen with a bigger dimension. In any case, I can move windows to my right screen if they disturb me on my left screen. I defined the left screen to be the `main X server screen.' Therefore, I thought panels would appear on that screen. However, they appear on the right screen. Apart from that, every new window pops up on the left screen, and the login window appears on the left screen too. What I want is my panels to go on the left screen, not on the right one, because my left screen is bigger and I'm facing it physically. Therefore, the right screen should extend my left one, not the opposite. It however looks, as I specified earlier, as if everything was defined correctly (i.e. the main X screen is defined as the left one). Any idea on that?
