adding pcmcia module for updated kernel

I recently installed the 2.0.33 kernel. Now I want to add the pcmcia module, which is in a separate package. This module is already installed for the previous version of the kernel, 2.0.30. I strongly suspect that I cannot just create a pointer to /lib/modules/2.0.30/pcmcia in
