Mozilla::CA provides a copy of Mozilla's bundle of Certificate Authority

Shouldn't be needed, we have ca-certificates.

So far patching (or simply using the patched debian packages like
liblwp-protocol-https-perl) was enough:
http://patch-tracker.debian.org/patch/series/view/liblwp-protocol-https-perl/6.03-1/cert.patch

If you tell us why you think you need this package we might be able
to help with finding a solution.

Bug#698111: ITP: zimlib -- Standard library implementation of ZIM specifications

2013-01-14 Thread Jaap Karssenberg
Git repository for zimlib shows rename was done in 2009, zim was
already a few years old at that time.

Afraid little I can do to resolve the clash other than renaming my
application, which needless to say, I don't want to because I like the
name.

zim in zimlib is actually ZIM which stands for Zeno IMproved file format
which was derived from Zeno file format.
[1]

I don't know who was first but maybe you could point out the nameclash

I will ask upstream but a couple of project depends on this library and
this name one being kiwix which I maintain but it duplicates this source
which is the reason why I ITPed it.

But as I said name is actually abbreviation and renaming it doesn't make
sense. What do you think?

Yeah first when I saw about zim in one of your blog post I got confused
and thought zimlib is already packaged :-)

I don't agree with this statement. Coming up with a name is always a
creative endeavour and you can always come up with something different
if really needed.

The question is more whether upstream is amenable to changing the name
given that zim from zim-wiki.org seems to predate openzim.org.

That's true. Given that this is a library a name change can lead to
problem for all projects which is depending on it (I'm not sure how many
project depends on this lib though) any way that's my thinking but I
will leave it to upstream to decide (Emmanuel is CC'd)

Poti is a library to create trace files in the Paje file format. This format
can represent lots of different kind of traces and it can be read by several
trace readers (vite, etc.) You should not use it directly during the tracing
of your application (nothing will stop you from doing this if you want). It is
recommended to use it after traces are collected in your preferred file format
(probably binary with memory buffers to avoid at a maximum the tracing
 intrusion).

Bug#609278: Unity

2013-01-14 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Hello Folks still following this ITP.

I spent some time trying to see if I could get the Unity shell packaged
for Debian. I started with taking the latest build from precise-updates
and see what needs change and what is missing

Here's what I have:

rrs@champaran:~/Community/Packaging/Unity$ ls
bamf/ frame/ grail/
Lenses/ libunity-webapps/ unity/ x11proto-fixes/
compiz/geis/humanity-icon-theme/
libunity/ libxfixes/ unity-asset-pool/
dbus-test-runner/ glib2.0-2.32.3/ indicator-messages/
libunity-misc/ nux/ unity-greeter/

Many of it is already in Debian in sid and experimental. Where as some
others (icons etc) can always be addons.

Building the entire thing was a real PITA. The main reason being that
getting Unity for Debian would mean close co-ordination in between
dependent package teams and accommodating changes. For example, the
unity patch for chromium.
And this definitely cannot be done by a single person. So are people
interested and willing to take it further ???

I haven't done much than just try to get it build inside a
sid/experimental pbuilder instance, so all the big task of co-ordination
with other dependency teams is still pending...

Oh!! And yes, it also runs on my box.

I don't agree with this statement. Coming up with a name is always a
creative endeavour and you can always come up with something different
 if really needed.

The question is more whether upstream is amenable to changing the name
given that zim from zim-wiki.org seems to predate openzim.org.

I did some more investigation and I don't see any file name clash
betweek zim from zim-wiki and zimlib. Even though both packages have zim
in the package name there is description field which clarifies any
confusion between both packages for end user.

So I guess renaming from upstream is not required. Please share your
thoughts.

My thoughts are I have been confused and thus I believe that other users
will be confused in the future. This is why I believe it's best to
rename. Furthermore, there are no file clashes yet, but the day
where someone will write a python wrapper for zimlib (and this is
on the roadmap apparently), it might become a real issue.

That said, I'm not here to impose anything to anyone. I just wanted
to inform you so that both upstream are aware of the potential conflict
and so that they can handle it properly.

Bug#686485: [license-reconcile] some more license mappings (#1)

2013-01-14 Thread Nicholas Bamber
Phil,
Thanks for the interest. It's actually now under the Debian Perl
Group's reposiitory. I guess I should have updated the ITP so sorry.
It's also been uploaded and is sitting in the new queue. I have to say
after working on this for six months I was just desparate to get at
least 0.1 out of the door.

On 14/01/13 08:54, Philip Hands wrote:
 Hi,
I've added a few more license mappings, such as:

prompted by trying to get the copyright file for freeswitch to be
somewhere near complete. That also required some patches to licensecheck
from devscripts, but mostly getting it to shut up about false positives,
so this patch should be fine even with an unpatched licensecheck.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

After getting rid of some old hardware, I longer use x2x so I'm looking
for someone to adopt it. Upstream is alive and well (and in NM), but
he's also looking to pass development to someone else.

The package description is:
x2x joins a pair of X displays together, as if they were a single
multiheaded display. The pointer can be warped between displays,
or, depending on how you start x2x, can slide from one display to the
other when it runs off the edge of the screen. Keyboard focus also
moves between displays in the way you'd expect, and the X selection
propagates around. At least one of the displays involved (specifically,
the one being controlled remotely) must support the XTEST extension.
(The servers shipped by Debian support this.)
 .
x2x is useful when you have two displays on the same desk, as you can use
a single keyboard and mouse to control both. If you want to propagate
your selections between displays which are not sharing a desk, you might
be more interested in the package propsel. Propsel does not link the
displays' keyboard and mouse, which would be confusing in some cases,
and can propagate between up to 8 displays, whereas x2x can handle only
 two at a time.

Bug#544982: ITP: telldus-core -- Utilities and driver to control NEXA and other RF

2013-01-14 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

[Stefan Alfredsson 2011-06-18]
I missed the reply from Micke (wasnt subscribed to the bug :S), so
I've had the ITP on hold... I'll do this soon. Meanwhile, the software
is easily installed from their own repository, so it would be
important to keep these in sync to avoid confusion.

Any progress with this?

 The sources are here:

 http://download.telldus.se/debian/pool/stable/

 For example
 http://download.telldus.se/debian/pool/stable/telldus-core_2.0.4.orig.tar.gz
 Or here:
 http://download.telldus.se/debian/pool/unstable/telldus-gui_2.0.104.orig.tar.gz
Did you use some other repository?

I used this repository, but do not find any .dsc files, nor do the
telldus-core_2.1.1.orig.tar.gz file contain any debian/ directory with
build rules.
