FTR, I don't know when or if I'll find the time and motivation to work
on adequate so I'll be happy for a team to take it over and then join
that team later down the track.

Dear Axel,

While I may not be useful in development (not a coder) , I would
definitely be interested in being the guinea pig and any tests that
you want me to run after every new release. Using adequate has
certainly made my life a bit easier, although at times it does have
false-positives. Maybe there is something there I could help with ?

Looking forward to know in whichever way I could help out.

:)

Ah, sorry, missed that part when I read through the history of this
bug report. For a long time, BartM had a bug in his script retitling
WNPP bug reports from ITA to O even if they were just RFA beforehand,
so I expected this to be an victim of that bug, too,

Anyway, in that case I've likely done just the right thing. So thanks
for the clarification. :-)

I intent to take care of the package under the QA umbrella in case of
RC bugs or similar.

But if I'd ever take over the package alone respectively its
development, I likely have to rewrite tests/run-tests in another
language. Testing Perl scripts with Python scripts is definitely not
my way of doing such things, especially if TAP is not used.

So I'd really prefer if a team would take it over. And I still think
that the Lintian team would be the most appropriate team for that.

Regards, Axel

I wrote this in May 2015.
Then, in May 2016, I orphaned the package.

In June 2016, Paul Wise declared his intention to adopt the package.

BartM's automatic WNPP mangeling has moved that bug report to an "O" in
March 2017, and you haven't objected.

This was move from (Paul's) ITA, so there wasn't anything for me to
object.

BartM's automatic WNPP mangeling has moved that bug report to an "O"
in March 2017 and you haven't objected.

There is an open RC bug (#922773) for 1.5 weeks now without response
from you.

So I assume, this package is really orphaned.

I've hence imported your Mercurial history into git and created a git
repo on Salsa at https://salsa.debian.org/debian/adequate

I intent to upload adequate as QA upload based on the above mentioned
git repo later today, to get the fix for #922773 into buster before
the hardfreeze.

I request an adopter for the adequate package.

To clarify, this RFA is about upstream maintenance, not only Debian
packaging.
