I thought of an
idea that when tested resulted in some good catches...
We experimented
with using our Blacklist fromfile not only with DELETE action but also as a
filter file. The same with our Free Email fromfile.
In essence while
those that we blacklist keep changing their addresses but it appears that their
URL appears in emails from other addresses.
So we started
giving it weight if the blacklist entries appear in the
body.
We also give
weight to all free email service provides and also started using those address
as a filter file as well. It started giving some good
results.
Just thought to
share the idea...
Scott: it could
have been a lot easier if we could simply use the same file and added weight to
it instead of having to put the filter, contain, etc. in the format. It
would be interesting to be able to simply have a single column with uniform
weight, location (body, header, etc.), and filter (contain, startswith,
etc.). This could make life a tad easier for such
implementation.
