ok, I think I see my error.
I need to make a sub under the declude folder whose name matches the alias.
But if my official hostname is server.company.com, I see in the alias field that we
don't have an alias defined!
Is this necessary if the server is only a mailbagger? (maybe just for
Title: Suggestion
Scott-
First, I must say I love your product and how quick you are to help here in the forum!
We are trying to implement a method to pull the declude logs into a database and parse them for statistics.
One thing we want to discover is the number of mail marked as
Great...
Yeah, we use log level MID to get the extra info for normal fails, but if it doesn't
fail anything...nothing gets logged.
Perhaps some switch in the global.cfg that turns that option on (for those of us with
a need for the extra info).

That would be setup (after creating the base domain naming convention in Exchange- the
default email address domain name).
It is configured in Exchange system manager,
Go to Recipients, Recipient Policies, edit the default policy, go to the second tab
marked: Email Addresses Policy.

Scott, quick question.
I see postings that v1.69 beta is the newest version of Junkmail...
But in the online manual it says v1.65 or v1.70 beta are available.
I currently have v1.67. Without going to beta's, shouldn't the version I go to be
v1.68?
Or is v1.69 out (not beta)???
Thanks
Not specifically, but you can connect to the actual console easily:
To connect to the remote Windows Server 2003-based computer,
open a command prompt,
and then type the following command:
mstsc -v:servername /F -console
* Note you need at least the 5.2 RDP client (native with XP).

I have to admin, the level of help I get from this forum is great!
Well, I have a tough one (for me)
Here is an email that I have no clue how to filter for (with the exception of the
domain name at the end- but these constantly change).
If you ignore what is between the brackets , it's an
It sounds like the same thing that has been occurring lately, in that-spammers are
using authenticated SMTP to get into a mail servers to forward their trash.
It looks like your account authenticated to your mail server and tried sending
outbound spam. Then you received the bounce. If it's a
One other thing you can try (I actually think Scott is on the right track if your
laptop firewall is showing outbound Outlook access).
Try not to save your email password in your outlook. Have it prompt you.
Much easier to stop these things when they cannot authenticate.
Stan Lyzak, BSEE,
I seem to be having issues trying to filter subject or body lines for the = symbol.
In my wordfilter file, there is a line such as:
BODY 8 CONTAINS style=font-size:1p
Is this just me, or am I really missing something.
What are the restricted characters in these files?
I checked the manual
We are running Pro, v1.78.
There are lines after this one (the = line rules are in the middle of a hundred or
so rules).
Let me run a manual test and see what happens.I may be taking a tech's word on
something that I should have checked firsthand
Thanks

BSEE, CISSP,
Nevermind...sorry for the wasted bandwidth. It works like it should (why did I doubt
your app Scott?).
Now pardon me, I have a tech to strangle.

Just my .02:
.local should not be used, and I hate using bogus TLD's.
MS's suggestion (and a valid RFC suggestion) is to use a sub-domain of your current
domain.
So if your company domain (for email/web/etc) is: company.com,
you could use: hq.company.com.
It is RFC compliant, will not
Scott,
I use a security tool called Superscan (from
Foundstone).
It does reverse lookups, and if you just choose the
ping option only (not to scan)- it will provide the information you need (even
if pinging is blocked).
The newest version (4) doesn't support this feature.
