What's the difference between spamcheck and declude?
Spamcheck is an addon for Declude JunkMail ( http://www.declude.com/tools
lists a number of addons for Declude).

SpamChk is a free external test designed for declude junkmail. It can be
used as add-on to make some content based tests.

The result of the content based tests are returned as a weight to
declude. So this result can make a part of the junkmail weighting
system.

SpamChk is also able to search for tipical legitimate mail properties
and can give them a negative weight. This can help to avoid false
positives.

I suggest to try it out. The best way to see how it works is to scroll
trough the logfile (with debug set to level 9)
The setup should be very simple. I recommend to use the ini-file I've
posted some days ago in this thread.

Markus

SPAMCHK takes already care of this. It give's some weight if there are
repeated html-comments with the same content.

Anyone know where can I download this app so I can try it out?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Keep in mind, that the provided ini-file is only a very basic one. I've
attached our current configuration that should work a lot better.

Note:
This ini-file is set up for a declude weighting system with hold on 20
If you have a high traffic server decrease the debug-level after you've
understand how spamchk works
Depending in your users structure and their location you can set up a
lot of negative keywords.
This keywords should be any word or phrase thats commonly used in
person-to-person mails and that spammers can't know about. For example
local names of cities, locations, products...

[Declude.JunkMail] Spamcheck 050d

2002-11-24 Thread Markus Gufler
Hi all,

We developed an external test for declude junkmail. We are interested to
share this application for free. All tests are content based:
-HTMLOnly
-SubjectWith5Spaces
-SubjectWithCode
-SubjectWithCodeMaybe
-SenderWithCode
-SenderWithCodeMaybe

In the future we will add other content-based checks like suspicius
links, checkwords, links to cgi's and scripts.

If you want to test them, download the zip-file
www.zcom.it/decludeupdater/SpamChk050d_inst.zip and copy the 3 files in
a new subdirectory like

  c:\imail\spamcheck

spamchk.exe can be used in declude as an external test:

  SPAMCHECK external weight c:\imail\spamcheck\spamchk.exe

In the INI-File you can define different weights for the test allready
realized. (in v 0.50d only the first section [HeaderCheck] except
HTMLComments) The points for all positive test results will be
returned as exit code to declude.
This Betaversion runs for 2 weeks without any problem on our server.

Any comments and ideas for new content based tests are welcome.

Markus
