Does anyone know is there is a call to create either the binary or text of
the 'inherited' changes and form components of
a class (i.e what the IDE shows when you view an inherited form as a DFM)
eg.
inherited Form2: TForm2
Left = 256
Top = 165
Caption = 'Form2'
OldCreateOrder = True
it?

I assume my library path hasn't been set up properly on install - any clues

How are you getting the input from the G-sensor some analog input?
Re the Rev's you'd be much better off making a hardware counter with a clocked gate
and reading it back digitally (via a printer port!)
I dont think you can do accurate software DSP at 6000rpm (4 stroke - 20ms cycle) The
I'd be keen for a DUG Meeting I'll even demo MSDE XCase 5 if anyones interested

Hey now this sounds good... You could show the pros/cons of one over the
other, how they could possibly benefit each
tho, AFAIK - we got a few in, and they went literally
overnight, much to Annie's suprise. More coming soon, I'm sure :) - if
you need it urgently, call Claire (09-3600231) and I'm sure we can
arrange something.
Who'd you get your info from, Neven??

I was eval Adonis but I thought any standard product would get better
support
I've also ordered InfoPower 2000 - woll2woll have finally dropped their
requirement for a subclassed
TDataset
I'd appreciate it if you can kick my order along

For what it is worth here are reasons what IB will lose the battle in the
long term
1/ History repeats - MS is doing to IB what it did to DBase and Paradox when
it released the $100 database Access 1.0 - it was garbage but stopped those
products dominance.
2/ Who said MSDE is limited to 5 users
Sorry that I've taken a while to respond to this but the first useful component I
wrote was a listbutton
which has an itemindex and a list of captions for this purpose (source free if you
promise not to laugh)
definately one button for the following reasons
1/ real estate
2/ attention moving

Then I shall be brave and ask how many of you use IE's active desktop?
Its
a classic case of applying UI that is inappropriate
Whats the 'never make the user look stupid rule'.
It possibly related to the 'never make the pupil feel anything but sucessful
rule'
which is churning out students who can't deal with the real world...
I write software..in a style..and I don't condescend to users

I think they are well aware and you won't hear a peep
The'll milk the product while it still has an installed base
of Apps written specifically for it
after all they are slowly becoming a subsiduary of MS

One thing I'd like to know is have they improved the handling of Record

into tab seperated stringlists)

I hate to say this (as i might incite another flame - actually more of a

But what grads are probably missing out on are a complete understanding of
the hardware basics of computing - everyone should write some assembler

The problem was that It is difficult to pitch the info at the right people
I was at a clients recently and they'd bought a POS system written in VB
with a Jet DB
The problem with Delphi has always been that it is so flexible it doesn't
push you in the right direction
I mean have you
How many records and I'll give you a considered answer
I've run MSDE and localIB on my win98 PC for a couple of months - neither
has crashed (Win98 has)

Two options I can think of
1/ Get Infopower from Woll2Woll
2/ Better still normalise your db so the link is to anothe table

DuhI'm not actually going to open the VFP Box
But once you register it
you get the rights to distribute - MSDE 1.0
Which despite it's unassuming name is the best thing that MS have done
recently
(which is why no-one seems to know about it)
MSDE is a full MS SQL 7 Server that runs on a
device open in a build, or even leaving a dataset open as of far greater
importance.
Cheers...

does the same thing
