One of the reasons to touch the area dialog was to harmonize the workflow. As
stated in the draft of the blog post you have now the full freedom with all
styling features, meaning also color from any palette. Hope you like

factory settings of palettes is not possible anymore (basically recent colors

heavy discussion here and there about the color palettes. I drafted a
blog post with what has changed for 5.3 (workflow, added/deleted
palettes, extensions) and would like to ask you for comments. Many
changes haven't been accepted yet (polite ping @JanIV), other need a
final decision.
