Re: [libreoffice-design] Re: 4.0 Branding and Out of Scope Designs
Branding guidelines are strict, because it is not good to change branding often - especially, if current branding is not bad. There is a popular proverb that people don't like [big] changes. For me, current branding is perfect, but 4.0 release is BIG event, so there's a need to make brand update. One more thing: does 4.0 will have new (slightly changed) file types icons? Greetings, Paweł 2013/1/23, minhsien0330 minhsien0...@gmail.com: I want the the brand guidelines less strict, too. I prefer bright and colorful splash screen, but it seems not easy to creat one under this guidelines. You shouldn't be angry (¡el que se enoja pierde! :-) but I agree that the brand guidelines should be less strict. Hi everyone, I'll try to answer several posts in this e-mail. It's true that rebranding was an unfortunate choice of words. Basically, we just wanted to refresh the splash, the about dialog, and the welcome screen. While that's not clear from the page title, it should be clear from the scope. It's hard to change the branding guidelines, as that would require unanimous agreement from not just the design team, but the marketing and website teams and the board of directors as well, and it would require redoing a lot of the website artwork. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to design+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-design] Re: New DONATE Button -- help from design group in India
For anyone following this thread, there was a mix-up on my part and this thread is all about a new DONATE button for the download page. Somehow, the terms got mixed up into the correspondence. I have sent my apologies to the Indian group as well as Mirek for the mix-up. My apologies to the design list as well for the confusion. There will be a follow-up on this later.
