this shouldnt be minor, and be major, it completely hangs up the
shutdown on 2 of my laptops, and i have to manually shut it down by
holding the power button, or select restart then hit the power button
once to send the term signals, very annoying on a laptop
battery charged, pluged in, unpluged

I don't know if this is intentional or not, but i used to have all the
cd/dvd drive icons listed in the 'Computer' location, also when there
isn't any disc inserted. When a disc is inserted, the icon pops up both
on the desktop and in Nautilus
I may be experiencing the same or a similar bug.
Here are the symptoms:
The volume controls in gnome-volume-control, xmms, aumix, and xine do
not affect the volume at all.
Under debian testing (the previous OS installed on this exact hardware,
just a month or two ago), the volume controls in
English GB I think.

xfs_check fails on mounted partitions with this ugly messages. If
partition is umounted, xfs_check does what it should do, but gparted
still fails with message:

Actually, it looks like the upstream patch implements separate callbacks
for the session and startup program sections of the dialog - so no

that its not a bug, on upgrades the update-manager will care for the
switch and remove xscreensaver, on new installs only gnome-screensaver
will be installed. if you manually install a second screensaver this
behavior is right

that this only affects the Human theme, other themes seem to work well.

Something similar happens when switching the panel to be on the left or
right:
1. Setup panel to be 'top' and unset 'expand'.
2. Re-open panel properties.
3. Set location to be 'left' or 'right'.
The panel now appears in the middle of the screen. Then do
4. Set 'expand',
and the panel
