It just happened again. I re-opened the lid and typed lshal, which gave
lshal: Couldn't obtain list of devices
(typed from memory, might be slightly different).
Now for the weird part: I then ran 'lshal -m', ctrl-c'ed it, 'lshal' again (no
change), checked that lshald and dbus are running
Pinned down to a problem with hal not being able to obtain the device
list.

pmount appears to just be following the information given by
(presumably) hal about the device. So pmount is not at fault here, it
is being told by other parts of the system that the drive is not
removable.

I have also a HP Deskjet 3320! Before I can use my web interface from

backtrace of the hang with gnome-panel-dbg installed? Run gdb -p

The HP DeskJet 3320 is supported with HPLIP 0.9.7 which is included
with ubuntu. I have verified that it was included with the HPIJS 1.3
release (which was a long time ago).
Also keep in mind that HPLIP 0.9.7 is terribly old...*nudge*

it's configured in edit-preferences-audioscrobbler it then reports all
tracks you play to a website last.fm which generates statistics,
reccomendations and other things. Not reporting all tracks would be a
bug.

after upgrading breezy to dapper on one of three machines gnome-
screensaver will not activate. Not after the timeout and not when

Syncing problems 100% solved :) - Upgraded kernel to 2.6.17.1 and Palm
syncing now works perfectly. So it appears that the default kernel is a

this issue. Seems that another libsdl game, ppracer, can trigger the
input problem.
We're dealing with two distinctly separate but seemingly related issues,
both of which point fingers at gnome-screensaver.

A quick dependency check shows about 15 supported apps that depend on
libsdl1.2. There about 240 packages total (universe/multiverse included)
that depend on it.
I vote for this bug being marked as high importance, because it is
affecting several supported apps in the main component (although
I meet the same problems...
