I have a similar problem, but a different outcome. The first time I
press the Switch User, Logout, Shutdown etc icon, my PC freezes for a
good 2 or 3 minutes - long enough to make me walk away from the machine
and come back later. But then the window has opened to give me the

I use Sound-Juicer for CD-ripping unter Ubuntu Gutsy.
Only few other program like amaroK recognize the tags correctly.
Audio TagTool for example cannot.
When I do id3info file.mp3 it says

The Logitech Cordless Mouse freezes and will not return but the Keyboard

I have the same issue when using a brand new 8GB iPod. If I disable the
iPod plugin in Rhythmbox then the issue goes away. Plugging in the
device with this plugin enabled also crashes any open Rhythmbox windows.
If Rhythmbox and Amarok use the same plugin to talk to iPods maybe this
is the source?

Ubuntu 7.04: Gnome-panel arranges icons strange way after change of screen
resolution.
I can confirm this. Hovering the cursor over the MP3 files that I have
each time increases the number of FDs by 4. The FDs are not freed later
on, causing the handles to reach 1024.
Once the maximum number is hit, the icons of everything in the nautilus
window gets replaced by the generic missing

If totem doesn't automatically install python-gdata, it should at least
prompt the user to install it. The youtube plugin is very visable, and
fixing it isn't obvious unless run from the terminal, so having it
broken out of the box isn't a good
python-gdata is currently in universe, so it would be appropriate to
first file a Main Inclusion Request against python-data, as otherwise
totem would be uninstallable from the shipped CDs (which would be less
good than having youtube broken).
