I have saw more tan 30 updates this morning, and I found the update of
gnome-panel. I updated it, I rebooted all the computer, and finally I began the
tests.
Results:
I have my home (Reus) added. I add a new location, putting only the name and
selecting a time zone. All perfect :)
@Pavel, how did you arrive at that patch as a fix for this bug? (Not
arguing against the patch, just curious). I note that the patch affects
the EXA code in the -ati driver, where I understood this particular
render bug only occurs in XAA, and goes away when using EXA.

Based on the bug history, it's my understanding that the original bug

In my Ubuntu 8.04 the connection from nautilus to mediacenter.gmx.net via
davs://mediacenter.gmx.net works fine.

I can reproduce this both in LiveCD and in an installation upgraded from
7.10 and updated to the latest updates. Compiz on in both cases.
I use reiserfs. I will try ext3 later. (But if it happens in LiveCD it's

mounted and can be browsed like a folder. However, drives mounted this

see the utility in having it - most laptops may have hardware keys for the
brightness, but it seems possible that the control could also apply to desktops
with LCDs, which will only have annoying menus on the monitor.

I can confirm this crash too

Got same here. Can also confirm that the workaround in the link fixed it:
1. Download
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/launchpad-integration/liblaunchpad-integration1_0.1.18_i386.deb
2. Install this package manually with the following commands: sudo dpkg
--force-overwrite -i
confirmed bug, and confirmed work around works too
