A little background: Honestly until 2 days ago it had been 6 years since
I have used Linux, but I got SO SICK of Vista which came on my machine.
This is the first bug so far that I have come in contact with while using
Ububtu 8.0.4, which by the way is the best Linux release I have ever seen.
After talking to someone on #nautilus they said this could be related to:
a) X-server og
b) an Intel driver that is not working.
After a hard crash (where the leds for number key pad and Caps Lock
blinked) I am tuned more and more against the Intel Driver issue.

directories are automounted (autofs).

I know that if I run with the 'Cover art' plugin disabled I don't have
this issue. Since it is playing in the background most of the time, I

I also get the error message(Failed to initialze HAL!) from a fresh
install of Hardy 8.04. cat I moved /etc/rc2.d/24hal to /etc/rc2.d/26.d
after reading the many trouble reports. I am now able to start hal
manually with $ sudo /etc/init.d/dbus start All of the functionality,

gnome-screensaver on my machine is configured to just blank the screen
after 10 minutes. No animations, no pretty pictures, nothing.

I can confirm that this is a bug. When setting a compose key, such as
Left Win key, the changes take effect and it works. However, upon
reboot, when going into the dialog again, the box is still checked, yet
the compose key does not work. Un-checking and re-checking the box does
work.

Service Type is FTP (with login)
After filling the information on user and password and leaving Port and Folder
blank.
