caused by the registered symbol in the device name. I am attaching
screenshots. In 'character.png' you can see the culprit character in the device

I guess I should have figured out the source of the problem...I'm
feeling pretty stupid right now. It was just that some of the fonts had
been set to 13.33 in the preferencesappearancefont

I can reproduce this bug (or a similar one) always. This happens if I unplug
and then plug in my USB keyboard. It can be the exact same keyboard and the
same USB socket. See below for steps to reproduce the problem.

Wow, I totally don't remember why I assigned myself to this bug.
I don't know what change needs to be done to solve this, so unassigning myself
for now.
If anyone runs across a patch, idea for a fix, or whatever, feel free to
re-assign this bug to me and outline what needs to be done. Meanwhile
ok i have attached a screenshot. i think it's a gnome-panel issue
because notification area is a part of the panel. as a matter of fact, i
have also observed this problem when using KDE 4.1 in the taskbar's
notification area.

Dear Pedro since I work with blind and they seems to find that totem
more simpler and suitable to their needs as a default multimedia player
than rhythmbox. Please forward it upstream if you think its worth it.
