GNOME again. Running a failsafe session disables compiz and all user
startup items. The most important one is compiz in case users have

out. There is no gnome-session process any longer, but a host of other
processes writing to the pipe. Only after killing each and every of them
manually, the pipe ends.

I found a resize problem yesterday on a customer laptop. The display is
at 1024(x768) if memory serves.
What it does:
evolution is launched and takes all the length on the screen and even a bit

I see this too. On upgrades in karmic where I had
$HOME/.gnome/stickynotes_applet, then the applet does not load. If I
remove the applet and the $HOME/.gnome/stickynotes_applet file, I can

Try to download the version with Xubuntu, I that I work, you may go to
the desktop, but I have not installed because my computer is shared with
Vista and Ubuntu 9.04 and I will not spoil the boot. Kubuntu also works.

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin
a window open for acceptance froze and the side vertical bar could not move
making it impossible to reach the end of the text to agree.

The problem, apparently, is that the application checks the presence of
software that can be installed from:
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse
If the software is not present, non-playable codecs are not shown
Unfortunately, the selection list does not show that this is the case, not is
there
