Just tried the DNS hostname of the server. Does not work either, even
though ping/dig/hostname all give the correct result. Even reverse
lookups work properly. The only way it works here is with an entry in
/etc/hosts

- did you tweak the gdm configuration at some point to not show the user list
or something?
could you also look in syslog if there any

not a gdm issue if it happens after login but rather a gnome-session
one, adding .xsession-errors to the bug and maybe changing gnome-
session.desktop to run with --debug and get a debug log could be useful

I'm on an amd64 release of Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala. I could not get
subclipse 1.6 to install because the final Finish button was always inactive.

I reproduced this bug with an old version, but I don't find on which version.
When I try on Evince 2.28.1, now it see it is a rar file and that the package
is not installed instead of crashing.
So I presume the bug is fixed.
Previously workaround was to install rar package.

A user filed a similar bug against OOo which appeared to be caused by
_NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN not being set. Compiz apparently no longer
works around the issue and makes fullscreen work properly at least in
OOo case on Lucid. This bug might not be related but at least on the
surface sounds
This bug no longer affects me. If this bug was due to Totem's Xine
backend, hasn't that backend been discontinued?

Aha, then its the same as bug 467825 I also face this on my acer aspire

Yes, I can confirm I'm able to reproduce the bug, using big fonts or
long labels (depending on language). I' have to investigate what we're
doing wrong in the dialog which prevents the button from growing as much
as needed.
