I also got a similar bug
I'm sorry but I have no knowledge of Linux and cannot give more useful
indications:

@Col, Sebastian mentions how to disabled this function, please try to
do that and if your issue it's different please fill a new report such a
wishlist one and I will send this problem to upstream developers for you
(in case you think this option should be disabled per default). Thanks!

Can do. Find screenshot attached. You'll note that both pages are
rendered separately, with separate shadows, with about 10px space
between them.
Help-About tells me I'm using:
Document Viewer 2.30.3
Using poppler/cairo (0.12.4)

Some recent (this is July 26, 2010) update to Lucid has caused
NetworkManager to wake up, on a system that has no need for it (static,
permanent, wired, unmanaged network link only) and begin broadcasting
via ipc-of-the-week (DBUS?) that the machine had no network connection,
