I have a similair problem. Placed music in folder home/me/Music/Alagna/Viva.
(invalid encoding) was added automatically to the name of some of the
unarchived files. When trying to open with right click-Open with Rhythmbox, it
didn't open the invalid encoding files (it played the files which
I'm getting worried. There is this *very* annoying bug that affects
every day the usability of the whole OS and this bug has been open and
not fixed for 3 years!!! Don't you listen to users at all?!

@Derrick: AFAIK there is no fix for Maverick or older yet. You could try
to convince someone to backport the patch to Lucid as this is an LTS

with find(1), etc., has to be able to do some things with .gvfs to even
work out it is the mount point of another filesystem and shouldn't be
descended into further. Those things fail in a way that they never
should with Unix

Tried to use System / Administration / Users and Groups to change the

A local filter by the filter bar (below the image) does work as
expected; problem is that this filtering is only projected on the given
folder, thus no sub-folders.

When an image has tags attached, these are not visible under the
properties pane. This would be very helpfull when organizing images to
provide a quick and complete overview.

When selecting multiple images, the metadata-button is greyed out. Thus
it is not possible to change the metadata of several images in one
action.
When organizing bulk images, this feauture would enhance efficiency
tremendously.

When the filterbar has an active filter and the filterbar is hided, the
filter is still active. The problem with this is that the user has no
clue why images are not shown. It would be better to disable filtering
(setting to 'All files') when
