Thanks for replaying. I forgot about this problem... sorry. I noticed
the problem was also with other players, so I tried changing values on
the system audio settings. At the end I hit a solution: I had to define
my audio output as a 4.1 output for it to work...

I tried this in Natty, but it seems to confirm this problem. Actually I
