Another workaround: rotate with Shotwell Viewer also works.

Title:
Eog doesn't have permission to save on a samba share
To
Public bug reported:
Steps to reproduce the bug:
-) I've mounted a samba share with Nautilus. I needed to provide login and
password to be able to access it.
-) I could access it with eog (Eye of Gnome) to view pictures.
-) But I needed to rotate an image and when I tried to save it, I got an
I have the same situation as romaindu91: no apport dialog, the window
freezes and all colours become gray shades: see attachement. If I
execute gnome-control-center from the terminal and if I click the User
Accounts icon, I get a libv4l2: error getting pixformat:
Inappropriate ioctl for device.
This is a bug from 2009, but could it be that this is still a problem
when using autologin?
I used the tutorial
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/AutoLoginFeatures, which
works. The problem is when thin client users want to shut down their
system, they are brought out to the login

The same bug seems to be present in a Dutch setup (see screenshot
gcalctool_nl.png), because the Dutch word for Undo is Ongedaan
maken, which makes the window too wide. That's why I've changed the
title.
The workaround LANG=C gcalctool works, but it's very user friendly.

Mattias

Can somebody explain why the status in this bug is 'invalid'? On my
10.10 system (file-roller 2.32.0-0ubuntu1) it's still not working. I
also see that the importance of this bug is 'low', but for some
languages it's very critical, eg. German (like already mentioned) and
Dutch.

I think this isn't only a bug in EOG, but also in Nautilus, as Nautilus
doesn't display the ico as well.

I have firefox, version 3.6.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 and
in this package, the bug isn't fixed.
So I guess 3.6.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3 isn't the same
package/version as 3.6.10+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1?

I can confirm wat Lazy is saying: this (very) annoying bug is still
there with almost all the files that have application/force-download as

Kristian Erik Hermansen, I tried your disable.offline.mode add-on, but
then I couldn't use Firefox anymore. Eg. when I type a URL and hit
enter, Firefox does nothing. These same with the search bar. When I
uninstalled the add-on, everything worked again (except for that
annoying offline mode that

knows there's a camera plugged in, but still it doesn't do the same
steps as with the Canon.
