EOG version 2.32.1 junks the file menu entirely. (Quite probably from a
misreading of an old Gnome Guideline that explains how task based applications
that do not work with files do not need to have a file menu, but Images are
files.)

Keep in mind this started as a bug against the Add Applications tool
(the point about the main menu was an aside) but I assume that has been
fixed too.

Synaptic is used for the installation.
I did check to see what synaptic looked like and concluded I wasn't using
Synaptic. I had to ask on IRC where was the right place to file the report the
issue and was told it was gnome-app-install :P

Upstream, grrr.
I've added a few of my scripts to the Registry but it is a crappy system and
not worth the effort on my part, especially since i mention it regularly on the
user lists when people ask about photoshop.
If you really think Ubuntu is not interested in this then fair enough go
My idea was not so much about providing examples as it was about making more
use out of all those resources shipped in every distribution, and trying to
share things like wallpapers and tiles with the GIMP too.

Glasgow which amongst other things change the program to use FLTK instead of
