I've already said in the description, but here goes again: go to
System-Preferences-Monitors and toggle Show monitors in panel then
go to the monitor applet in the top panel and click Left rotation.
Before the restore countdown is over, click another screen rotation.

I activated monitor rotation applet with Show monitors in panel. I set
the screen rotation to Left then, before the Restore countdown has ended
I set Upside down. The result was that the rotation changed to Upside
down then, after

Also, in the same applet, if the rotation is set to Normal and I click
Normal it shows the restore count down. This has no purpose, because I
already have the normal rotation selected.
