This only appears fore some applications, but I still believe it's a nautilus
issue. To reproduce:
- connect to an sftp-server, sftp://somen...@someserver.com/home/somename
- Right click on a plain text
Two other aspects of this:
1. I have set geany as my default text editor for php-files. It works on local
files, but not on remote files (via sftp) where files are always opened with
gedit
2. Certain files, even though they are normal text files, without a file
associations ( ex. .pem - file

all, and it would really seem logical to open unknown files by default in
the text editor. This is the sort of behaviour that's really annoying on
windows: each time you try to open a file that is not

When trying to open a file that doesnt exist, gedit fails with
Could not find the file /home/ There is no option to create the file.
This is totally inconsistent with the mor rational behaviour when trying
to do the same from the command line: In this case gedit opens

- Set your firewall not to allow ssh-connections. now go to places-connect to
server... on the menu
- Try to connect to an external ssh-server:
- Service type SSH
- server google.com
- User Name: anyuser
