change options evolution crashed.

least as far back as Feisty. However I would argue the real issue still
remains.

I now longer see the originally described bug (abiword and other text

Upon retesting this issue in Gutsy I have found that there is a twist.

I'm not sure I understand your answer... Typically compiz is turned on or off
by simply pressing the "Enable Desktop Effects" button in System -> Preferences
-> Desktop Effects. I'm not sure what Beryl does. If creating a temporary new
user for testing purposes has all the effects on then
