[Bug 43350] Re: Too Low Resolution Backgrounds

2007-01-10 Thread Troy James Sobotka
We should probably address the default wallpaper first. Hopefully the author will get this message and offer up an SVG equivalent, as it should be quite easy to address. On a side note, Daniel, we should consider having a method to automatically set the 'Zoom' gconf setting for widescreen modes

[Bug 45192] Re: Buttons in Evolutions composing mail window are ugly

[Bug 14630] Re: Gdm theme Human with face list

2007-01-07 Thread Troy James Sobotka
Apparently there is a horrible communication gap in Ubuntu. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FaceBrowserLogin I believe sabdfl approved it in principle. There are no official design documents, so following the 'style' is virtually impossible as there isn't one. -- Gdm theme Human with face list

[Bug 29425] Re: rectangular buttons in titlebar

2006-12-23 Thread Troy James Sobotka
Apparently aesthetics doesn't matter. Once again, the default theme should attempt to be aesthetically pleasing and functional for a given target audience (yet to be defined.) Since free software is infinitely customizable, I suggest that the user apply their own theme to meet their needs.

[Bug 19549] Re: Usability : the default metacity theme must be accessible.

2006-12-06 Thread Troy James Sobotka
The bug reporting issue regarding design is getting a tad silly. We have no target audience for the design -- which is ultimately the problem. The aesthetic, whatever it ends up being, _will_ not and _can_ not please everyone. Also, permitting bug reports to be filed against any aspect is truly
