I've recently been seeing this happen across two different motherboards.
I hadn't seen it appear at all previously.
I'll wager that on some level this is a race condition. It occurred zero
times with a quad core and about 50% of the time with my six core. This
happened on identical hardware with
Confirming on Maverick. Radeon 5750.
Tested with the Maverick desktop installation media via thumbdrive and
it crashes in the installer as well.

It seems illogical in todays day and age that a thumbnailer crashes the
entire desktop file browser system.
Confirming here. The thumbnailer crash bugs have been around for at
least four or five releases.
Nautilus needs to be insulated from thumbnailers crashing the entire
system.
As it is now, and has been for at least four or five releases, I can
easily drag down my entire desktop file browser via an SVG thumbnail or
video codec thumbnail.

I'd add the fact that certain AVCHD streams in MTS wrappers play fine.
What does it take to add the .MTS to totem-video-thumbnailer?
As it is now, as long as it isn't a 24p encoded into a 60i stream, most
of the MTS seem to be handled properly by Totem.

Ok. Done and done after my last batch of photos.
Frequency: Always (Seems to happen every time I do an import)
Symptoms: Import succeeds. Initial autolaunch of F-Spot fails when
plugging in media. When finished, shutting down the window via the
close function simply hangs the application.
This is marked as Fix Released, yet it appears that fonts:/// is
still not working for adding and removing fonts.
The inability of Nautilus to view the fonts directory and install fonts

I wanted to bump this bug report with the news that Cinepaint is now
considered unmaintained in Debian / Ubuntu and is possibly (?) not going
to be included in Hardy.
I will say beyond a shadow of a doubt that lacking _any_ application to
do realtime manipulations in interfaces that are _close_
It is just an embedded PNG.
Right click on any embedded PNG in a PDF and click 'Save As...' and try
saving it with the .JPG extension.

Default image viewer (Eye of Gnome) can't load
Upon further review, it appears that Evince is not exporting the file to
the extension named.
In this instance, choosing the Save as... in Evince failed to save the
image as a JPG and wrote it as a PNG (probably the source image format
in the PDF.)

There are many people, some with art and design degrees, who have issues
with some of Ubuntu's chosen implementations across everything from
Wallpaper to Icons to menu layouts.
That said, the current art and design final word is handled by sabdfl
himself. He chose to integrate the emblems. It

himself. His thoughts might change in the future, but for the time
being, the chance of him approving of buttons that are wider is

The bug reporting issue regarding design is getting a tad silly.
We have no target audience for the design -- which is ultimately the
problem. The aesthetic, whatever it ends up being, _will_ not and _can_
not please everyone.
Also, permitting bug reports to be filed against any aspect is truly
Lacking overall design pattern for Ubuntu.
Until we have one, I would close all bugs with words like better in

Intermittently fails to load on amd64

Managed to duplicate bug in the following fashion:
1) First load Evolution and select a folder other than Inbox. Select a mail
message.
2) Load another folder. Shutdown.
3) Upon attempting to restart Evolution, the application fails to load
and simply dies after attempting to load.
While one can discuss the merits of the sounds on aesthetic grounds, I
