The matroska specification allows one to attach an image file to your video
(actually you can store whatever you want in it). In jaunty
totem-video-thumbnailer used these in the video embedded images to generate a
thumbnail for this movie and only generated a thumbnail from a video frame if
I am fine with that. Should I file a bug on bugzilla.gnome.org or is
this done automatically. I am not familiar with the procedure. If I
should do it let me know or when there is anything else. In any case
thank you for dealing with my bug report.

The files play nice in totem there is no problem and they are all matroska
files with the mimetype video/x-matroska. Attached is an example in jaunty it
shows the Ubuntu logo in Karmic a thumbnail is produced. If there is something
else I can do let me know.

What I have to do to encounter the bug:
I Put one song in the song queue. Then I wait until rhythmbox has finished
playing (or I fast forward the song it doesn't matter). It is important that I
don't stop playing manually because then everything is fine.

When Rhythmbox has finished playing the current song queue. The rhythmbox
applet still appears like it would play music. I assume therefore rhythmbox
blocks suspend althrough it doesn't play music.

I obtained an Backtrace, but i don't get them every times althrough totem
freezes always when I load an mkv file with subtitles.
So I put two gdb-totem.txt together with an Valgrind log into an archive.
I also noticed that totem xine can play the files.
I hope it will help

Binary package hint: totem
Totem gstreamer doesn't play any Matroska files with subtitles but he
plays Matroska files which doesn't have subtitles. The Matroska files
where Created in Gutsy. All Subtitles are utf-8 encoded. If I load such
a file(Matroska with subtitles)
