Hmm, this might be scaling related. I set my laptop to 100% scaling
(instead of 200%) and the bug seemed to disappear.
Unfortunately, using 100% scaling on a HiDPI laptop is not a practical
solution.

Can somebody please try to reproduce this? I would like to know if I am
going insane or not.
Because I lose a little bit of my sanity every time I have to kill
Firefox and lose all my tabs because GNOME randomly decided to ignore
all user input until I kill Firefox. Firefox's session recovery does

the lock screen will be usable, but once I log back in, the system will
still be frozen (until I kill the foreground process). However, the

I am able to reproduce this on a Lucid box using "sudo passwd root" to enable
the root account. I haven't heard that Ubuntu was going to allow root logins
through gdm even if the account is enabledf, so I believe this is a bug.

this. F11 is the toggle key for switching between full screen mode and a
normal window. If this is what you are using to try to get out of full screen

That's fair enough, since normally you expect menus to close when you
click outside of them, even if it is a right click.
Actually I found that the behavior was erratic, sometimes I do get a
normal menu, other times it acts like you right clicked on the panel
where the menus are.

I've attached my term.log, I haven't updated since this bug appeared
yesterday, and my updates are similar to davmor's. I don't know exactly
what to file this bug under since neither gnome-media or gnome-applets
have been updated recently, and there must be something that is loading
