Vinagre but it still doesn't seem to be possible with Gnome to send reverse
requests which is the most important part since every supporter knows how to

Ok, I have found the reason. If I suspend the system through closing lid

I have found another problem. It is not only the indicator applet, if the
system goes to sleep after x minutes because of the gnome-power-manager setting
the screen is also not locked.

According to IRC support the trigger seems to be gnome-power-manager. If it is
killed before suspend resume works fine as in Kubuntu oder older releases.

I didn't have this problem with radeon driver and a rv350 chip which

Another problem is gdm. I have moved the user direcotory and created a new one
with write support but after this gdm doesn't login with this user. It just
changes the password field back to username field. I guess I have to
find/create another bug report for this but I guess it is worth

What happens if you change your resolution with System - Preferences - Screen
Resolution? Does it still show the correct resolution after X logout and
relogin?
Maybe your wrong resolution happens because of changes in the
gnome-display-properties.

You can run xrandr --auto in Gnome console. This should change the
resolution to 1024x768 so you can use the gnome-display-properties tool.
xrandr changes aren't saved so the GUI tool have to be used afterwards.
