In fcitx configuration->Global Config tab, there is a setting "Extra key
for trigger input method". This is by default set to "shift both", but I
like to set it to disabled. However, every time I log out and log back
in, this setting reverts to the default.

This only affects the workplace switcher applet, which I thought windows
didn't have? You can still move windows between desktops using the
option menu or the keyboard shortcut (ctr-alt-shift left/right). Or just
dragging them to the edge of the screen.

I've attached my xorg log. Both machines on which I've observed this are
using the free ati driver with compiz disable (because compiz doesn't
work with this setup).

When logging in, a progress bar (back and forth type) is displayed with
some text while presumably gnome is started. Unfortunately, on my dual
head setup this is displayed either on the wrong screen or with the
wrong resolution.

This bug is not fixed, I just encountered the same problem in ubuntu
9.04 (release). Copying the image off the disk works fine, then after
inserting the blank disk I get an error insufficient space on media (0
instead of [...]) With the [...] being the real amount of bytes.
