Thanks for the extra info.
I think there are two possible fixes for this issue.
The problem is the g-c-c checks for epiphany in the path.
This is a shell script shipped by the epiphany-browser package
that just execs epiphany-browser. That is an alternative provided
by both -gecko and
I just installed epiphany (Package: epiphany-browser) and it showed up in
preferred applications. So this bug does NOT occur to me. Can someone else
please confirm?

I also don't see this issue on a fresh hardy install,
but it may be an upgrade problem.
Can you provide some more information for me please?
Firstly the versions of Epiphany and gnome-control-center
you have installed.
Next could you attach
epiphany-browser... wha? it is not installed!
But I'm indeed writing this from a properly working epiphany-gecko 2.21.90
installed on a fresh Hardy beta 5 + updates.
The way I did install epiphany was the same as I did in previous ubuntu
releases: install the epiphany-extensions package and let
