same issue on version 2.30.3-1ubuntu2, I've tried to remove profile under
~/.local/share/vinagre
and also to add custom settings, after first run it starts always in fullscreen

I'm still having issues with fullscreen on latest 2.26, looks like a
regression.
If the app is closed while in full screen a restart shows the full gray screen
with no menus.
F11 does not work then, workaround is to open a connection with Ctrl+N and then
F11 can be used.

Hello guys. I'm tagging this issue as 'fix released' because it doesn't
happen with me, using vinagre 2.25.92 - that one found in Jaunty.
I've tried lots of possibilities, all time I start vinagre it starts
correctly.
Please, try that version of vinagre (available in Jaunty, or as a

When you open Vinagre, it doesn't start any connection. Is vinagre
opened fullscreen? I can't find how to trigger that, for me it always
opens in a normal window (not fullscreen), no matter if I close Vinagre
with alt-f4 when I have a connection opened and in fullscreen.

I had this bug on hardy. I solved the problem by editing the following
settings via gconf-editor:
/apps/vinagre/
window_width = 100
window_height = 100
window_state = 0
Now vinagre is working again.
For me it seems that the window dimensions are set too big when this bug
happens.

I am stuck with this same bug. Vinagre always start full dark grey
screen and F11 doesn`t work. This bug happened after i went to full
screen and could not remember the command F11 to come back to window
mode, and i did ctrl-alt-del myself out of it... I am running ubuntu
8.10 64 bits, nvidia 8600
I can confirm this problem... is annoying when you're working in a full
screen vnc session and want to send Alt+F4 to the guest. If somehow the
focus is still on the vinagre window, vinagre closes and saves this
fullscreen settings. When I start vinagre then, its always fullscreen
