I want to comment that this bug is still in Ubuntu 10.04 and it can be forced
by starting file after file after file until it crashes..
So if you go through your music eg. and start one track and then another and so
on it will crash after a while. pretty enoying.

to do with Totem crashing when it tries to show its logo.

wow, i'm not finding this problem in Totem 2.24.3 with the splash screen
and don't remember it affecting me before either. I must be just lucky i
guess. I think i don't play stuff that's that high res in the first
place although i do play HD so i'm not sure - prolly just lucky there
too.

I did some more digging. The problem Chris and I are seeing is
completely unrelated; it is actually a dupe of #130696, which mentions
several workarounds.

1.4.3 fixes the issue. I've created packages for my own today, later I'm

I too had this problem using i915 (not sure if my card being i915 is

would have been something far more difficult or complex. Thanks again,

I'm just saying, at this point, totem with the xine backend does not even

about it. I will not push a buggy version of totem into backports either,

I'm not saying that it requires a backport of an unstable version; I'm just
saying that if by chance using dapper-updates to backport that patch does
not work, we can now accomplish the same task via the dapper-backports
manual upload mechanism. Just another failover for this pesky bug :)
