The new 12 notebooks have powerfull processors and thus allows to use the standard Ubuntu flavor instead of the netbook edition. However the default 2nd panel is wasting place in height. Moreover, the new displays are mostly with a 16/10 or 16/9 aspect ratio. It is boring each new notebook user

Jérôme , Kindly read *all* the comments above. This move has to be first discussed in the mailing list and we have a separate UNR edition for this . We can not be modifying desktop edition simply because netbooks have become powerful. For the use case you've mentioned UNR needs to be updated ,
