Some progress... i think.
Added to the group shadow cupsys, then restarted the cupsys daemon

changed the permissions for cupsys in groups and users so it can configure
printers, make administration duties, use scanner, and use serial

causing this.
First, what version of Ubuntu are you using?
The PSC 1350 is not listed in gnome-cups-manager under HP, what model/driver do
you use?
Do you get an error message when running gnome-cups-manager
Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 LTS Final Desktop 386. Downloaded by means of
torrent.
Since there´s no PSC1350, I use PSC1300 (as recommended by
linuxprinting.org: Think of it as the 1300 series)
