I also have not seen the problem when running AIGLX / compiz !
Could this be some synchronization problems between ubuntulook gtk-engine and
the ati-driver ?

To me it need not be solved before release...
I think that in dapper it needs to use /dev/dv1394-0 rather than raw1394
(which is a security risk).

The commands shutdown and init don't shut down my computer, but ask me to log
in for maintanance.
The day the problem occured I had copied the human gdm-theme to home and
changed it slightly and have been using that theme since then.

It's not thta long ago that I reinstalled my entire system. I installed
from the Kubuntu Flight 4 CD, and dist-upgraded from there.
I tried to reinstall gdm (apt-get --purge remove gdm; apt-get install gdm), but
that doensn't help.

Sorry to re-open, but I am not sure that this is a duplicate of 27171.
27171 is about the SSID - I am reporting about the WEP key not being
saved properly. If the bug affects both these fields it is of course a
duplicate - but otherwise not.

I've never seen the scrollbar issue, but I can confirm the garbled
buttons. I don't have RenderAccel in my xorg.conf file either (that's
the place where I could find that option, right?), and I'm using a
Radeon Mobility 7500 32mb on an Inspiron 5100.

obviously, we should drop beige for dapper. I'm not able to find a color
that fit well with black, beige and brown. So i build DarkDapper gdm
theme using the default dapper background quite like OS X does. This is
more consistent. For now, ubuntu has beige only for gdm theme. That is
On your own machine, you may do whatever you like -- that's why these
things are configuration files. Obviously we have to ship things in a
safe configuration.
If the only firewire device you own is a video camera, changing the
group of the raw1394 device is probably appropriate.

I understand that, but the artwork is so buggy ! I just want to help
getting the best polished artwork to dapper. I do not consider this as
major changes.
As you seems happy with this artwork mess, i give up. I wish that edgy
process will let the community make a lot propositions for every part

I second that irritation. Hyphenationless LeTeX ist simply unusable for
(at least) german LaTeX-users. The number of long words in that language
(and for sure in several others) is that high that tetex in the current
state is practical useless for german documents.

still the wrong icon for writer when you put it to the panel. icons are
correct (though not very much as to bug #45168 last comment) in the
application menu though. just the panel icon for writer is wrong now.
