[Bug 29622] Re: Many web browsers not print the headers and footers.
Firefox 2.0.0.4, when run under Ubuntu Fisty 7.04 would print two almost blank pages for each page printed. Both almost blank pages had a thin line of dots at the top of each page, which later appeared to be attempts to print the page's header and footer. Firefox has two sets of margin adjustments, one for the page and another for the sheet to be printed. It appears that the default margin information Firefox sends to CUPS is wrong. [Bug 112950] Re: after a while (five minutes) listening music, it closes
Well, that was interesting--I'm not sure if I am having the same issue as the original submitter, but I can at least give details on what I found. I believe (and I'm ignoring other crash bugs related to gstreamer or specific songs/files that crash..) in my case this problem was exacerbated by a network that was in a weird state, and the fact that this was my first time with rhythmbox with album art fetching enabled (it wasn't in the standard edgy rhythmbox version). I'll explain more: 1. I tripped over the fact that my network was partially misconfigured yesterday during the time I experienced the problem.. rather than being down, it was up with a valid IP on my home network, but I was VPN'ed into my work account (which adds routes for all internal networks), but I did *not* have my default route (through my home network gateway). Not sure how that happened, but that meant as I was working away (on work networks) it wasn't until hours later I tried to get to google and my webmail and found nothing outside my companies network was reachable. At this point I had already gathered the crash info.. since fixing this problem I can't generate the crash.. 2. After fixing my network, I grabbed several debug sym debs for the memory regions showing up in the backtraces (rhythmbox and gnome-vfs). This seemed to point to the fact that rhythmbox was trying to use gnome-vfs to grab album art (someone more aware of the code could verify this).. but I was able to verify gnome-vfs is what crashed on a read(), and it was trying to reach a URL and make a connection. I assume if my network had been really down (eg. eth0 ifdown'ed) it wouldn't be trying to do any of that, but with the strange state my network was in, something couldn't handle the errors gracefully and ended up in a SIGSEGV Here is some relevant data: BACKTRACE OF THE THREAD IN SIGSEGV Core was generated by `rhythmbox'. [Bug 119076] sortable windows/tasks list in gnome panel (wncklet)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: It would be really nice to be able to sort windows and tasks in the gnome-panel windows list. It can be very useful when you use on a daily base a set of applications like email client, internet browser, text editor.. and you are used to find them in a certain position. Your hand movement to the task button then becomes quite automatic but if you in the meantime open some windows like couple of nautilus and gimp and firefox crashes, restarting it will lead you to have the firefox button at the end of the list and you'll always have to search for it.. so it would be nice to be able to drag that button back to where it was :-) I don't use grouped windows so can't say if there could be the need to drag and drop also the sub items of a task button (popup menu items) .. importance: wishlist ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: Unconfirmed ** Tags: gnome panel wncklet -- sortable windows/tasks list in gnome panel (wncklet) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119076 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 119017] More tests
If I run gthumb dir from the gnome terminal the thumbnails are displayed and no errors are given. The problem happens when running gthumb on a directory using Nautilus: in this case 2.10.2 does not display thumbnails, while 2.7.9 does. To diagnose this, I called gthumb on a directory from the context menu of Nautilus, using a custom command: env LANG=C gnome-terminal -x gthumb to observe the message errors. [Bug 93613] Re: gnome-session: malloc() memory corruption
Ok, this is solved for me, but I'm not sure what did it. Browsing the Ubuntu forums I found the problem may be a permissions issue. They mentioned it could be the permissions/user/group on the .ICEauthority file, but I don't think that was the case for me. I even deleted the file (it comes back, so that's ok) but the problem persisted. So I created a new user and saw that everything worked for him. I, then, compared the everything I could (with 'ls -al') between my user and the new one and couldn't find any differences. So I moved all my hidden folders into a temporary folder with 'mkdir ~/hidden mv .* ~/hidden'. Then I logged in and it was all good. Next I slowly started moving things back from the hidden folder. I'll let you know which folder was the problematic one, but if it's .gconf, i'm not descending into its subfolders! -- gnome-session: malloc() memory corruption https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/93613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Francesco, If you know how to edit / compile the source code, I would stick some printf's in libgthumb/file-utils.c:resolve_symlinks to see what is getting mangled. [Bug 119044] Re: Crossfading engine never starts playing
No, they're mostly wavpack flac, and a couple of mp3s. So, looking at that bug I tried playing files from each of those types, and both the flac mp3 files played fine. Only the wavpack files fail to play. All the wavpack files were encoded in Banshee using GStreamer, and play fine in both Banshee and Rhythmbox without the crossfading backend. When I get the time, I might go through and encode a CD into every codec banshee supports, and see what plays :). I'll update the description. ** Summary changed: - Crossfading engine never starts playing + Crossfading engine never starts playing wavpack files ** Description changed: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Running Gutsy, with rhythmbox 0.11.0-0ubuntu3. I selected the crossfading engine (Edit-Preferences-Playback), then restart Rhythmbox. While using the crossfading backend, when I try to play a song rhythmbox appears to never quite start playing - the window title changes and the play button gets pressed, but the song time never advances and no sound is played. I'll attach the log of rhythmbox --debug - the crossfading backend appears to say not playing quite a lot. + + Out of the three types of files in my library (mp3, flac, wavpack) I + only see this behaviour with wavpack files. -- Crossfading engine never starts playing wavpack files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
