[Bug 113862] Re: Volume and quality problems with dell inspiron 9300 laptop
I have the seen the same issues running Ubuntu on my Inspiron 9300. Now, I'm running Gutsy and my main complaint with sound is that the mute button on the front of the laptop doesn't mute the bass speaker by default; only the main speakers, so it distorts or sounds funny and there's no quick way to mute the machine without opening the volume manager and dragging PCM control all the way down. Even then, if the volume manager in Rhythmbox isn't all the way down, you can still hear sound. Not good sound, but it's definitely audible and not at all muted. [Bug 176886] Re: Inserting page number directly immediately jump back to old page
Thanks for the quick reply! It happens for example with the PGF 1.18 manual (attached). I am seeing this both with and without compiz. A little more experiments indicate that it might have something to do with searching for text inside the pdf. It seems as if a search locks a page, even if the search menu bar has disappeared. When it locks I can not use Previous/Next either. So the bug is probably more about having a visual cue that a search is still in progress. ** Attachment added: pgfmanual.pdf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10932839/pgfmanual.pdf -- Inserting page number directly immediately jump back to old page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176886 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I consider it a bug that it resizes the sidebar at all, when what I requested was resizing the video pane. If I cared only about the current playlist entry, I should be looking in the title bar, not in the sidebar, don't you think? [Bug 176983] Screens and Graphics controls never save resolution or refresh rate settings (and is redundant with Screen Resolution controls)
Public bug reported: I have noticed that on 3 different Ubuntu Gutsy installs on differing hardware (all of them various ATI Radeon video adapters, though), the new System - Administration - Screens and Graphics controls seem to never save either the screen resolution or refresh rate. My most current experience with this was last night at a friend's house, shortly after he installed Gutsy (new install). He has an ATI Radeon 9800 and a Dell P1110 CRT - he was confused that his refresh rate was not sticking upon logout (after using Screens and Graphics). He tried this with both the default ATI driver and the proprietary ATI driver from the website (the Restricted driver didn't launch X at all). He prefers 1024x768 @75Hz, which he set, multiple times in Screens and Graphics - but upon logout/login, it reverts to 1024x768 @60Hz. He was able to make changes stick via System - Preferences - Screen Resolution. This should be filed as both a bug for Screens and Graphics as well as counter-intuitive that both Screen Resolution and Screens and Graphics exist in a default Gutsy install. How's a user to know which one to change, and which one works? Thanks! ** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screens and Graphics controls never save resolution or refresh rate settings (and is redundant with Screen Resolution controls) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/176983 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for meta-gnome2 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
