Firstly check that the floppy module is loaded by running
lsmod | grep floppy
then edit /etc/fstab and add a line at the end that says
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 vfat

after username/password the screen freezes.

I am using Totem 2.21.95 in Ubuntu Hardy. When I try to play any type of
media, Totem crashes right away. This is what the terminal says:
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.

I use Totem-gstreamer, by the way. Please tell me if I can provide any

Weird, I just tried installing vlc and mplayer and I get the same error
with both. So maybe it's not a bug in totem after all.
