Re: [Bug 363652] Re: Totem Movie Player crashes when going to full screen
Hi there Its a nvidia GeForce 6600 GT, and I'm using the Ubuntu restricted nvidia driver called NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version 180) [Recommended]. I will do a backtrace later and upload that for more info. I have managed to work around the problem (sort of but the performance drops a lot) I did it by running gstreamer-properties from terminal and then under Video selecting the X Window System (No Xv) option. This resolves the problem but the video becomes very sluggish if I'm doing any other process... So I still think there is an underlying issue. You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: openoffice.org While using OO, it behaved like ALT was pressed once and as I typed (in cells in calc, ordinary text) all kinds of menus were opened so I don't have a clue if it was similar to any other bug, like crashing when attempting to save etc. Usually menus were opened and I press ALT once to get rid of whatever meny that was opened but sometimes i typed the right combo to open whatever menues. Happened again, after a save was made (by mistake) but not until yet another menu was opened and closed and continued for a few seconds, the crash-thingy opened up. Watching another .mp4-video. Dolphin hangs to a halt for a minute or more while trying to select/open it (.mp4-files). Tried now with a normal xvid and still happens. Turned it off and everything works like it should in OO. [Bug 362771] Re: Icon view zoom incorrectly recalculates scrolled window width
Also confirmed. At 400% Nautilus is scrolled all the way to the right, I can see 3 of my folders in Compact View but there are 6 in the row, if I scroll to the left all 6 can fit in the screen but default is for the file browser to be brought to the right which leaves a lot of blank space on the right of the three visible folders. -- Icon view zoom incorrectly recalculates scrolled window width https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 363861] [NEW] login screen uses tiny fonts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm This is probably the same as one of the other gdm font bugs, but they didn't look quite the same. This is with the Jaunty RC, clean install. The fonts in the login screen are mostly microscopic -- too small to read. This applies to the actual text of the username you type in, as well the text in the options menu. However, the prompt asking you to type in the username / password is the right size, as is the Options text itself and the date at the bottom. I'm using a 1360x768 widescreen monitor (actually, a television). This happens with the normal ATI driver as well as the fglrx driver - no difference. I'll add a couple of comments to this bug. I just upgraded my machine from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04. The same thing occurs when I try and open gnome-terminal by pressing ALT-F2 to get the run program dialog box. I type gnome-terminal in the command window and click on the run button. I added a launch button the panel and checked the properties. The command line is simply gnome-terminal I am running the gnome desktop. It is consistent every time I attempt to open a terminal. [Bug 363879] [NEW] toggling hidden files closes unfoldered directories
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus jaunty RC In Nautilus, if you unfold some directory, and afterwards you press ctl-h to show hidden files, the unfolded directory are closed. [Bug 363463] Re: Panel does not retain initial reordering of applets
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 36189 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/36189 This does not seem to be the same bug. This is intial reordering retention, not location retention. This is not caused by screen resolution. It is caused by simply restarting gnome-panel. The expected behavior, actual behavior, and description of the problem do not match the original bug this has been duped against. Please review this bug's description again. [Bug 362090] Re: cursor doesn't behave properly when hovering over toolbar
** Description changed: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser 1) Jaunty Beta (up-to-date April 15) 2) epiphany-browser 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 3) Mouse over toolbar buttons, see pointer 4) Cursor reacts by disappearing, appearing as a text selector, appearing as a hand (as if resizing a window), etc - Though the cursor behaves properly (highlights and activates buttons), - it does not appear as it should. I have been unable to determine what - triggers this behavior, and how the false behavior is determined - (whether the cursos disappears, appears as a text selector, etc). Effect occurs when - hovering over toolbar (tabs, back, forward, etc) and menubar (File, - Tools), but not when hovering over location bar. + Appears to occur when imbedded Flash is present. [Bug 292018] [NEW] system locks up when cycling through previous commands in terminal
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Today i installed a fresh copy of Intrepid ibex expecting to resolve this same problems from 8.04 However on a fresh install, the first thing I tried was to open up terminal and press the up arrow on my keypad to cycle through to the previous command. I know there is no previous command but this was the only way i know that can mimic this freezing! This only happens if there are no more previous commands. The computer just freezes and i have to reset the computer.. This only happend in 8.04 and now 8.10 All previous versions where perfect on my laptop. There have been other situations where it has frozen but i am unable to mimic these. [Bug 95853] Re: Delete file in Nautlus - no warning
Are you serious?! Any other desktop environment (Windows / KDE) asks. This is what the user expects! Feels like riding a sport car without brakes... That doesn't mean it is correct though. [Bug 363895] [NEW] sftp cannot connect after a resume from suspend to ram
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus After doing a resume from suspend to ram, an active sftp connection cannot be reopned with nautlius. Nautilus just hangs and after a while displays the error message attached to this bug report. When i first unmount the sftp location and then reconnect to the server everything works fine. Either all active sftp/ssh connections should be disconnected by the OS before suspending, or when resuming it should reestablish the sftp/ssh connections. [Bug 363911] [NEW] gnome-sound-properties previews sounds it can't play
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center This is under Jaunty Beta, AMD64 on a macbook pro 5,1. It is possible to select a sound under gnome sound properties that the system cannot play. To demonstrate, create a sound file in your home directory. Select that file under an event, such as empty trash. The preview should work and play the file as normal. However, when the event fires, it will not play. This can be resolved by creating a link to the file in the /usr/share/sounds directory and selecting that file instead. My suspicion is that it is a permissions issue, but I can't for the life of me figure our how it can play a root file but not a user file. The result of this is that the user will select a custom file and the default file will play instead, thus generating a bug report. ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome-sound-properties previews sounds it can't play https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363911 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
