It works if you mount it manually.
Use the following command:
sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdb /mnt
(replace sdb with the device that ist created for your kidizoom)
after that the content is available in /mnt

This problem has something to do with compiz. I by default had compiz
on, and I have this problem. Then I turned compiz off, and I was able
to get the desired transparency. When I turned compiz back on, I could
again get the transparency, so I can no longer reproduce the problem.

Desktop Bugs, which is
10.04 Goes into hybernation ( Fn + F4 ) screen slowly goes white then black,
backlight stays on moon' led is on but it will not return from hybernation (
Fn )... i.e. must be powered down and restarted.
9.10 was perfect in this respect.
