a pointer. That is a bug, because it puts a phantom pointer on the

I have been having a similar problem in lucid, reported here:

...and upgraded to Maverick in the hope that this would go away - it doesn't
and is now even worse...
if I attempt to open the calendar it either crashes without any warnings or
just hangs and
I upgraded to Maverick (clean install, home directory retained) in the
hope of improving the situation - it seems to be worse, and now often
closes when I just click on the calendar.
In case it was a problem with char encoding (as suggested elsewhere) I
created a new calendar.ics file

Clicking the title of a window is
I forgot to mention that when this happens, running programs are still
functioning (eg streaming music playing), but no other keyboard input is
accepted (eg can not switch to a virtual console (ctrl-alt-f1)). I can SSH

Yes, when there is no swap (I first encountered this on my laptop where
the swap had got corrupted and wasn't being mounted) then midori and
epiphany fail to start.

Is this fixed? Less than a month ago I installed 10.04 on a compaq
laptop, printing to a network laser printer (can't recall the model).
Everything fully up to date at the time, but it's printing PDF's at

Make the window narrow enough so that some file's tabs are not visible.
Use the mouse scroll wheel on the tabs to move between them.

Yes, reproduced using Xubuntu natty-desktop-amd64.iso dated 2011-02-18.
Without removing the 'ubiquity-slideshow-xubuntu' application, the
installer will not even start. It is simply a spinning cursor.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross
I did not disable plugins and it is same on any system i am running
ect... maverick/natty clean or upgraded. Gedit does not offer bash as a
highlight option if you see it somewhere please tell me where to look.

Could you please check whether you have crash files for evolution under
/var/crash ? This is normally where evolution closing because of a crash
would create files; which you can then send using the ubuntu-bug
file_name.crash command to open a new bug. Please send the crash files
with the above
