I just tried okular and acroread with a known problematic pdf. Okular
was consistently bad between Lucid and Maverick, with a job size of 24mb
for a certain 75 page pdf. Where as evince on Lucid was 51mb for the
same document. Then evince on Maverick was a nice 13mb. Acroread on
Lucid was 69mb.

ok, I did a fair bit of digging around in sqlitebrowser looking at
folders.db in the mail/local directory. I could see the mails arriving,
the deleted field changing from 0 to 1 following deleting the mail in
evolution, and then the record in the table being removed following an
expunge.

I can add, that reverting the change on top of 2.24.0 fixes the issue.

Can you reproduce this problem? Can you run evolution from the terminal
and see what output is printed?
It appears what might be happening is the email doesn't contain valid
UTF-8, and dbus/gvariant doesn't handle this case.

Still having the problem in Chrome and Chromium where adjusting the
volume/brightness using keyboard shortcuts causes the screen to flash
white while playing flash video.

Evince 2.32.0 prints that document fine on my Karmic 32-bit, but it
takes about 2 minutes of processing I have a dual 2GHz Pentium
processor. Evince still reports a problem while it is processing but
later the printer prints the document correctly.
