[Bug 920691] Re: Nautilus has no Bookmark target until CTRL+D
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 874386 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874386 It's not a duplicate of the other bug it was linked to, so I have removed that link. This is a feature regression, is confusing and inconsistent, (perhaps this doesn't qualify it as a bug). The other 'bug' relates to not being able to use bookmarks for moving files/folders around the filesystem by dragging them onto Nautilus bookmarks (which was is a deliberate choice by Gnome). My 'bug' is that it's impossible to even ADD a bookmark by dragging, which is the feature Gnome chose to preserve in this discussion! It only applies to the FIRST bookmark. Once you have added one folder, then drag-to-link becomes possible under the Bookmarks heading. Even accepting the Gnomic logic about the ambiguity of drag-to-link versus drag-to-move, they chose to favour drag-to-link. Making it impossible to drag-to-link the FIRST bookmark isn't consistent with their logic. It's to do with the build of Ubuntu which makes Home, Desktop, Documents, Downloads not 'Bookmarks', but something different under 'Computer' - a collection of shortcuts which prevent drag-to-link, and facilitate drag-to-move. As it turns out, you can't create new items under the Computer heading at all, I think. [Bug 920691] Re: Nautilus has no Bookmark target until CTRL+D
Sebastien has added back the duplicate flag I removed, even though this is incorrect. Indeed this is the direct opposite of the other bug, if you take into account the feature discussion at Gnome, which split bookmark drag functionality into two. The one they decided to preserve is broken by the bug I'm reporting, at least for the first bookmark. I'll leave it to the team to decide how to manage their bugs. If they want to flag a different bug as the same thing that's their business. [Bug 920912] [NEW] gtk2 Expander Right Arrow Wrong Size
You have been subscribed to a public bug: In Natty (I think it was one if the updates, but I cannot figure the responsible) the right arrow of the expander in tree seem to be somehow cut at top and bottom, therefore it does not have the correct size. I realised now that it is not only in the expander, but whenever there is a right arrow, like the drop down menu. And this happens in all engines that I have tested. I am wondering if it is a package from the proposed archive, but I am not sure. ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: arrow engine gtk -- gtk2 Expander Right Arrow Wrong Size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/920912 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 916441] Re: gsettings-data-convert crashed with signal 5 in g_settings_set_value() on missing keys
I cannot reproduce the shotwell settings migration crash on a live system, so unlike the unity-2d one (which now has a separate bug, sorry for the noise) this is harder to reproduce. /usr/share/GConf/gsettings/shotwell.convert definitively has the session-key entry (which is where the conversion stumbles), and I can't find that anywhere in shotwell, or even in my whole system. Thanks for that info. Ideally we'd ship a photo-taking app by default, as we used to. [Bug 921013] [NEW] can no longer drag and drop an unread message in evolution
Public bug reported: For years, I used to be able to read a message, later mark it as unread and then drag and drop it into another folder with it being kept unread. After upgrading to 12.04, I can no longer do this. This is useful for some workflows where you mark messages as unread to provide a visual cue in the folder view to come back to it. TEST CASE: 1. open evolution 2. mark a message as unread 3. click and drag to a new folder In step '3', the message is not draggable, but instead is simply marked as read. As such, you must click and drag the message to another folder, then go in that folder and mark the message as unread. This is inconvenient. [Bug 921071] [NEW] daap served files sometimes stop playing
Public bug reported: After upgrading to 12.04, rhythmbox will sometimes stop playing daap files, only to after a few minutes start playing a different file again. Ie, if I connect to a mt-daapd server running lucid with rhythmbox on precise, I can play individual files fine. I have selected to have songs play in random order, and rhythmbox will continue to the next song fine. Occassionally audio will stop in one of the songs and then minutes later it will start up again (with no user interaction) in another song. When it does stop, I can click to fast forward to another song and it works ok. This does not seem to happen with local files (I played them for hours with no interruption), only daap served files. I have tried to correlate this with a problem with networking in precise, but do not see any messages problems in /var/log/syslog that would indicate a problem. Rhythmbox can play a mixture of ogg and mp3 files fine (ie, it is not a codecs issue). There is nothing in .xsession-errors when this occurs. I tried to strace rhythmbox at the time of the problem, but couldn't figure out what was happening. This worked fine in 11.10 and earlier. [Bug 891440] Re: evince crashed with SIGSEGV in xcb_get_extension_data()
So I haven't been able to reproduce this issue with the media keys normally. What it actually correlates with is my bluetooth headset pairing with my laptop; I thought it might have been the media keys because whenever I pair the headset it spontaneously emits a media key event (which is probably a bug in the bluetooth stack somewhere), but when pressing any of the media keys, either on my laptop keyboard or on my headset, evince doesn't crash. But I had a hunch that it might be related to the registration of a new input device. Disconnected my USB keyboard and reconnected it, and evince crashed again. [Bug 60518] [NEW] gnome-system-tools network-admin does not play nicely with resolvconf
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools I have two network interfaces, eth0 a wireless interface and eth1 a wired ethernet interface. In network-admin I've configured the eth1 interface via DHCP. I then select the interface and click the Activate. All is well, the interface gets configured and /etc/resolv.conf contains the stuff received from the dhcp server. If I then click the OK button to exit network-admin, /etc/resolv.conf reverts back to containing no configuration data (only the boilerplate info about it being a dynamically generated file). For the record, I have no entries in the DNS tab in network-admin. ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Confirmed -- gnome-system-tools network-admin does not play nicely with resolvconf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/60518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-tools in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
