[Bug 940836] [NEW] [precise] Cannot set empty keyring password - focus is stolen by main window

2012-02-25 Thread Roman Yepishev
Public bug reported:

STR:

1. Remove existing login keyring
2. Start an application requiring keyring
3. Get the New Keyring Password Dialog.
4. Click on OK without entering a password

Expected Results:
I can click Unsafe storage in the confirmation dialog

Actual Results:
I can only click Close window decoration button as all the keypresses are
going to the main window effectively making it impossible to use empty password
for keyring.

[Bug 321720]

2012-02-25 Thread Adrian Johnson
I started looking at what it would take to implement javascript. The
problem is all the javascript in this pdf does is check the viewer
version and if 7.0 loads the XFA plugin. The pdf contains a stream
with 600KB of XML starting with template
xmlns=http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.1/;.

There is a 1500 page specification for XFA at
http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/xml/xfa_spec_3_3.pdf

Needless to say, at this point I gave up.

[Bug 931565] Re: The methods Shutdown and RequestShutdown in org.gnome.SessionManager do the same

2012-02-25 Thread hakaishi
** Description changed:

I've looked into the source of gnome-session-bin and noticed that the
methods Shutdown and RequestShutdown of the org.gnome.SessionManager
interface both start the shutdown-dialog. In the file
org.gnome.SessionManager.xml it is clearly stated that RequestShutdown
(line 319-325) should not start a Dialog while Shutdown (line 251-257)
  should.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, but this problem has been occuring since some time
before 12.04. (I've noticed it because I'm the programmer of qshutdown)
The difference to the System(s) before 12.04 was that the shutdown-dialog was
not called in both cases.

Just to mention another problem coming with this: When setting (lets say
with the dconf-editor) at org-gnome-gnome-session (also
- org.gnome.SessionManager) logout-prompt to true, no dialogs are shown at
- all (with either Method) and clicking on Shutdown in the indicator menu
- also just shuts down instead of showing the option(s) to reboot etc.

[Bug 940583] Re: Terminal Ctrl+u doesn't clear the line

2012-02-25 Thread David Planella
Vadim, thanks for the heads up.

However, Askubuntu is a community site, so please, feel free to do the
changes or add a comment there yourself. Thanks!

As per the bug itself, it's a technical defect that should be filed
against the application in Ubuntu, rather than an issue the Ubuntu
Community Team should resolve.

Thanks.

[Bug 940913] [NEW] edubuntu -screen-shot not displayed on the Desktop

2012-02-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I take some screen-shots and save them on my desktop directory, but they are
not immediately displayed on the desktop itself. I must wait next login in
order to see them on my desktop.
I experience this problem just with edubuntu user; everything ok with other
users.
N.B. I noticed that edubuntu user desktop directory is named Desktop and not
Scrivania as I expected having chosen the italian language. Other users desktop
is named Scrivania.

[Bug 811475] Re: Descender letters (g j p q y) get their tail cut off in current song

2012-02-25 Thread Anthony Harrington
Further to my duplicate report,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/920587

i propose that either the 'Now playing x' information, or the bar which
moves as the song plays, should be moved to the empty space highlighted
in orange on my last image, freeing up more room to show more contents
of the library etc

It seems inefficient to have an large empty space sitting there, when we
have this problem.

fix commited is not the appropriate status when you have a feature
request for one feature and implement a different one. I'd still like to
see an option for having global menu for maximzed windows and a normal
menu (not lim where i have to click an extra button to open the menu)
for the non-maximized windows.

[Bug 931802] Re: /usr/bin/rsvg disappeared

2012-02-25 Thread Scott Howard
Symlink won't work, it takes different arguments. The rsvg command has
been deprecated for a long time. I'm inclined to follow upstream and
debian on this one and not do anything to the precise package since rsvg
was a kludge to begin with. It doesn't really make sense to write a new
kludge to implement an old kludge which in turn was written to implement
an even older tool.

[Bug 936052] Re: File browser hangs after a while

I have tried to make a backtrace. It wasn't so difficult than I thought.

I can't get any further than step 4 on this page

Nautilus turn black when I right click a file and the rest of the system also
hangs so it isn't possible to further with the steps.

[Bug 737679] Re: topics in rooms do not update or sometimes display

2012-02-25 Thread John S. Gruber
I cannot reproduce this problem in Empathy 3.3.5.

The problem appears to be addressed in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23151 in upstream
Telepathy, and corrected with
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=658542 in Empathy. Marking as
such.

As lernid uses the older python bindings lacking the new interfaces
added in Telepathy, rather than using introspection to find to
Telepathy, it is tougher to fix there.

[Bug 861045] Re: Empathy shows Yahoo users as Available rather than actual status

2012-02-25 Thread John Williamson
My contacts who run yahoo messenger in windows set their accounts to
show idle after so many minutes. Empathy continues to show their
status as Available. Pidgin correctly shows them as idle plus the
number of minutes idle. They can select their Busy and Invisible
statuses and those do display correctly in Empathy. It appears to be
only the idle status from Yahoo that does not register correctly with
Empathy.
