[Bug 341725] Re: Can't save changes in VirtualBox Shared Folder. Nano, OOo do it.

2014-09-16 Thread Andreas Schmid
I agree that this is a general glib problem. Because in Files, the
Ubuntu 14.04 file manager, I get a

Error renaming temporary file: Operation not supported

when I try to overwrite a file on my samba (cifs) share.

Coming from Debian Testing here, where the problem was solved by
installing the evolution-webcal package. GOA doesn't seem to depend on
that package, but it's necessary for Evo to connect to Google Calendar.

[Bug 1370063] [NEW] webdav thumbnail large file freeze

2014-09-16 Thread Minosone
Public bug reported:

When viewing a webDAV mounted share in nautilus it will proceed to
download all the files in order to generate thumbnails, including large
files. This results in GB's of data being downloaded and freezes
nautilus. This even happens if under Preferences Preview a tick is
placed at Local Files only and only files smaller than (10MB).

From this I conclude that nautilus sees a remote webDAV share as local
(or just doesn't check) and that it doesn't check file size (or only
checks file size if it already has downloaded/cached the entire file).

This is in Nautilus 3.10.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

[Bug 1359933] [NEW] [Hyper-V] hyperv_fb kernel module is not automatically loaded on Ubuntu 14.10

2014-09-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker

x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu Server 14.10 Daily build from 19th Aug.

During the testing we've discovered that the hyperv_fb module is not
automatically loaded by the system.
The module is used for the 2D FB functionality and in 14.04 and older it was
loaded along with all the other Hyper-V LIS kernel modules.
Please make the necessary corrections to include hyperv_fb as well.
This affects all Windows Server editions, from 2008R2, WS 2012 and WS 2012 R2.

The module is also used in runlevel 3, and our test setup has the X
server and GUI installed.

[Bug 1370215] [NEW] unity menu scroll itsfel up from time to time

2014-09-16 Thread C0m4r
Public bug reported:

I had big trouble to describe it, and the problem bothers me so much
that guided by the motto a picture is worth thousand words I decided
to record a video that shows it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkWYYbYu2FY

In other words sometimes when I hover an icon, then menu instead of
stopping on this icon scrolls itself up instead.

Note that I do not have two monitors so my cursor does not go beyond the
edge of the monitor. moreover, this happens only sometimes.

[Bug 1029289] Re: Need to authorize my google account each time I boot the computer

2014-09-16 Thread Franko Burolo
Matthew, I have enabled trusty-proposed repository, updated repo lists
and then did sudo apt-get install evolution-data-server to upgrade it,
and I accepted to install all the necessary dependencies with it. When
finished, I re-disabled that repo. aptitude show evolution-data-server
lists the packages you mention as dependencies, so I assume I have them
all up to date with the proposed repo now. Could I be wrong?

Alberto, yes, the calendar service seems to still be the problematic
one. Both before and after I upgraded to the proposed packages the bug
appears only when calendar is enabled. Above, by unchanged I meant I
am noticing the exactly same behavior -- no improvements, no
regressions, no changes.

[Bug 1353951] Re: gnome online accounts require autentication on startup

2014-09-16 Thread yazid
Yesterday and today randomly (once or two times a day) a black window pops up
and asks for google password, but does not accept the correct password.
Evolution and calendar seems to work. The proposed fix needs more testing.

[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2014-09-16 Thread Daniel Harvey
Workaround

What I do is this:
1. Open the destination in another tab in Nautilus.
2. Select the files/folders in the original tab.
3. Right click and select Move To... or Copy To...
4. The other open tabs are shown under Places in the dialog.
5. Select and go.

Would love to see this fixed but I survive with this workaround.

[Bug 1370329] [NEW] systemd's reboot/shutdown programs don't work under upstart

2014-09-16 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

Installing systemd-sysv replaces upstart's reboot, poweroff and
friends. systemd's binaries currently don't know how to talk to upstart
to forward the request to upstart. This breaks a transition to systemd
as default init which doesn't just change the boot= kernel parameter but
installs systemd-sysv.

The same problem happens when systemd-sysv is installed but the system
gets booted with init=/sbin/upstart.

It would be useful if one could do initctl reboot, so that there's
always a way to reboot the system when using a different init= than
/sbin/init.
