[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)

2015-04-28 Thread Chris Good
Oops, I should have posted the comment first before adding an attachment.
Here is the rest of comment #89:

I have attached the ~/.xsession-errors file.

The other problems are:

Many indicators do not work. eg nm-applet
I cannot type 's' in gnome-terminal - it keeps on opening the Applications menu.

Should I raise new bug(s) for these? This problem is sort of finished.
Should a new bug be for gnome-session or xrdp?

Thanks again.

2015-04-28 Thread Chris Good
Hi people,

Thanks very much for all the help.

I can run gnome-flashback in Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS (up to date) using xrdp/vnc
now, but it is not workable yet.
I'm using Remote Desktop from Windows 7 to connect to Ubuntu.

The major problem is that logging out doesn't work. The window changes to a
blank purple screen and never closes.
All the processes still seem to be running.

Installed are:

gnome-session-flashback 1:3.8.0-1ubuntu12.2
gnome-session 3.9.90-0ubuntu12.1

~/.xsession :
gnome-session --session=gnome-flashback --disable-acceleration-check

I have attached the

[Bug 1449842] [NEW] 15.04 doesn't recognize md raid on boot sometimes

2015-04-28 Thread sles
Public bug reported:

Hello!

I have root on ssd, but home on md mirror and lvm over it,
about 30% times I boot system systemd stops on searching for lvm volumes on md
device, which, I guess it can't recognize,
only pressing reset helps, it even can't reboot in alt-ctrl-del.
I don't know how to look into boot logs of this systemd.
If you'll tell me, I'll do next time.

Thank you!

[Bug 1449809] [NEW] Unity Panel permanently displays "File Edit View Bookmarks Help" when Adwaita or High Contrast themes are used.

2015-04-28 Thread Omadas
Public bug reported:

This Bug does not affect the Window Title or Menus from successfully
appearing, but they overlay the "File Edit View Bookmarks Help" in a
visible manner, making it difficult to use (especially for High
Contrast). I have returned Unity and Compiz back to default settings
and tried again, this bug reappears when changing the theme to either
adwaita, High Contrast, or any custom theme that supports transparency
of the Panel. Even adjusting transparency of Radiance or Ambiance
themes in DConf reproduces this error.

the issue seems similar to bug #846639 which has been closed because

[Bug 849631] Re: Unable to initialize new Ipod, unsupported checksum type

This still happens in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS: My wife got a brand new Apple iPod nano
touch as a birthday present.
Rhythmbox says when trying to initialize the device: "Unsupported checksum

The device is visible though and it is possible to browse the directory
structure in file manager.
Is there any known workaround to copy the music files from her Ubuntu computer

[Bug 1448154] Re: middle click on title to lower window isn't working in Ubuntu 15.04

2015-04-28 Thread Mondane
Just noticed that, with the workaround, when all windows are 'lowered',
it isn't possible to cycle through them again. In the old behaviour, you
could just keep middle clicking and the current window at the top would
go to the back of the stack. This post,
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2142633&p=12635891#post12635891
, shows the following available values:

'toggle-shade'
'toggle-maximize'
'toggle-maximize-horizontally'
'toggle-maximize-vertically'
'minimize'
'none'
'lower'
'menu'

None of those give me a suggestion it would provide the functionality I
require. Is this also a regression?

This is being uploaded under the GNOME MRE. You're allowed to believe
upstream that the bugs are really fixed - just give the system a general
once (or twice) over to see if things still work.
